Foreign brands in China - blessing or curse?
My coaching career for German and Chinese managers of multinational companies began over ten years ago. Since then, international management has been one of my great passions and topics in coaching. How do I live and work successfully in a different culture? How do I lead a team, a project abroad, an intercultural team? How do I make important contacts? How do I speak to the media in China or the USA? I had to find out all these questions myself over two decades of living and working abroad. The fact that I speak Chinese for normal communication helped me in China. But that was not enough. One of my discoveries: Culture is a language of its own, and mastering it is crucial for success. Even if both interlocutors from different cultures speak perfect English, the understanding of what is being said is often different without an understanding of the culture. This often leads to major conflicts in teams, projects and business. In my coaching program, I integrate my diverse experience as a lawyer, entrepreneur, journalist and PR consultant as well as my international know-how from Shanghai, New York and London. I am never only concerned with visible cultural behavior, but always with a deep understanding of a culture. This not only leads to business success. By recognizing your own cultural behavior patterns, you also become a better manager.
