The coachee: Everyone is capable of sustainable change. This is evidenced by the findings of neuroscience. Everyone has their own personality and should be accompanied individually. Everyone has enormous problem-solving knowledge about themselves, be it consciously or unconsciously.

What makes a good coach and coaching approach?

Some skills, such as empathy, curiosity and intuition are partly natural gifts or develop together with the experience of a coach over the years. Other skills, such as asking the right questions and listening, can be trained in a more targeted way. These topics are important for a good coaching approach:

The first important ability of a coach is to elicit the "right" goals from his clients or to work on them together. The goals of the coaching should be clearly formulated, realistic and motivating. One of the most popular techniques in goal research is the SMART method. SMART is an acronym meaning that every goal should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound.

Another valuable skill is to formulate problems as solutions or to motivate the client to think in a solution-oriented manner. Whenever a client tells you about their problems, you can stimulate creativity by asking: What needs to happen to solve this problem? With these seven tools you have the perfect tools for continuous goal review and for authentic feedback on the status of goal progress.

Another characteristic of a good coach is the ability to actively listen and to gain as much information as possible from the client's statements. This information must then be filtered and classified accordingly. As an active listener, the coach is neutral and does not judge. Even if we are never completely objective, it is still the goal to remain as objective as possible, to give the client our full attention and honest interest.

A good coach asks the right questions at the right time. The ability to ask the right questions at the right time is another quality feature of good coaches. The right questions help the client to become clear about his goals or maybe even to reconsider and adjust them. A good coach helps to develop new ideas and to find solutions or answers to problems. The so-called children's spirit of a good coach is pronounced and supports the client in finding creative solutions. Approach of the coaching:
systemic therapy
We have further developed our coaching approach with the help of other schools of thought. Our clients benefit from this. We supplement our approach with the system that every person has around them. It's about family, friends, work colleagues, etc. By including the client's immediate system, patterns become visible and thus workable.
behavioral economics
This science deals with human behavior in economic situations. People often behave irrationally in the sense of homo oeconomicus. We incorporate these findings, which have been proven through experiments, into our consultations. Outstanding representatives of this direction are the Nobel Prize winners Richard H. Thaler (2017) & Daniel Kahnemann (2002)
Logotherapy (Viktor Frankl)
From this approach we derive the central importance of meaning (logos) for our work. The moment the client recognizes the meaning of his self-harming behavior, this can be fought. Any solution is then possible as long as it only makes sense for the client.
Stoics (Marc Aurel, Seneca, etc.)
The Stoics exemplify serenity and peace of mind in order to gain wisdom. The aim of our approach is not only to support the client in solving the problem, but also to give the Stoic's relaxed view of things and thus a long-term alternative course of action
Initial consultation:
This interview is a regular appointment in which we work intensively. To be fair, the first 30 minutes are free. If we cannot find each other within this time, the conversation can be ended free of charge after 30 minutes. If, as is usually the case, you want to take advantage of our advice, we will add another full 60 minutes to this session.
New customers:
New customers are based on our capacity and the urgency of the issue. Since we always have significantly more demand than free places, there can sometimes be longer waiting times. For capacity reasons, it is not always possible for us to offer all interested parties an appointment or a collaboration. In urgent cases, we can sometimes push people in. This is our coaching approach, which has proven itself in recent years.
Agreed dates:
Unfortunately, coaching sessions that are canceled less than 48 hours before the appointment must be charged in full for logistical reasons.
On-line Coaching:
Online coaching is of course possible and works extremely well. For new customers, however, the first work unit is recommended face-to-face. Here you can get to know us personally and find a good basis for our further cooperation. If this is really not possible due to the physical distance, this first unit will also be held via Skype, Teams or zoom performed.
